As I understand it, when the SWRemote user adds or updates an email address it only updates the location email, not the billing email.  Could he have the option of updating the billing address's email as well.  SW21 sends invoices to the billing address email not the location email.  If our call taker misses getting the email and adding it to the Billing side when she takes the call, and he captures it in  the field and says we will email the invoice... it isn't going to happen.   (Take into account that 30,000 of our customers are NOT 'carbon copy' with our locations)

I would like an enhancment to the admin swremote site that would allow me to print out the 'work done' and 'work suggested' information.   My techs would like to have a printout of all the options we are creating there for them and go over how and when to use them.   If it were printed out and handed out at a meeting it would be much easier to discuss.

I will put in the feature request for you for some modifications to the Admin Site.  However, in the mean time, you can select all the text in the Work Suggested field and copy and paste it into Microsoft Word to get the list printed out.  Once inside word resize it so it fits nicely on a page.

If "Carbon Copy" is turned on then the changes to the email in the Service Location wll be changed in the Billing Account. If it is not turned on, as you stated,  then the email will have to copied by someone in your office. Would it make sense to have your techs make a note in the Work Done section stating that the customer would like to recieve an emailed copy of the Invoice? This way the office staff will see this and make sure the change has been made, 

 

Also, I will put in a feature request for the techs to be able to change the billing accounts email address.

Greg, that worked very well, thanks for the tip, I copied and pasted  To Microsoft word, and am ready for my meeting with my techs...

 

I like your tip about using Work done to note the client wants an emailed copy, then the office SHOULD look into the jobsite as well until the the techs can edit the billing account's email address.

Is there any chance of getting SW Remote to accept a fingerprint or a scanned code as a log-on password?  We have the ES400 phones, and logging in to SWR with a long string password and a stylus seems cumbersome when there's a fingerprint reader already built in on the phone.  As another alternative, how about scanning in a password that's been printed as a barcode?  Less secure, I suppose, but a tech's password/barcode could be easily hidden.  Just a thought.

I can put in a feature request for the fingerprint/scanned code addition for you.  As for the long string password, you can change those in SW21 by logging in with the techs user info, and clicking the "Change password" link.  You can also change the length requirements as well.  I will forward these requests along to our team, thanks again for the request!

Working with Motorola, I think we've found a few ways to extend the battery life a bit which will require some changes to the way we use bluetooth.  It's on the schedule for our next release which is in about 8 weeks - and there will be some other significant additions as well - stay tuned!

Ehnancement request.

  When a tech is doing a callbaback on a previous tech, if the previous tech's invoice isn't posted yet, it isn't available for him to choose as a callback.  Is this something that can be fixed on the SWRemote level? or do we need to talk with SW21 about this.   Often a tech has to go back that evening, or the next day or two after a previous tech was there.
